Dam: Artistry's Chia Tea Registered with ASDR, NSDR and MASCA Sky's Story We were casually looking for a mate for Chase and not in any hurry when one day I came across an ad that tugged at my heart. Mary Myers owner of Lil Creek Aussies was disbursing most of her dogs due to a return of cancer. It broke my heart and to make a long story short we purchased Sky and made arrangements to have her ground shipped the 1800 miles from Tennessee to Wyoming. Then tragedy struck just 500 miles from our home, Sky escaped from the shipper in a Denver suburb. After crying a lot of tears I immediately got to work and called every veterinarian, shelter and animal control in a 20 mile radius along with pictures and a description. I headed to Denver and enlisted the aid of a very dear friend. She stayed with me at a hotel and helped post several hundred flyers. Sky had been spotted nurmerous times and even almost captured by animal control but she was too terrified to be caught by anyone let alone strangers. She was three and half years old and had spent most of her life in a country setting. After almost a week I had to return home very heartbroken and without Sky. But I continued to run ads and keep in touch with animal control. Through it all Dan kept encouraging me not to give up. Then a MIRACLE, after almost three weeks of Sky going without food and shelter, dodging heavy traffic and being attacked by coyotes, yes Denver has coyotes, a lot of them; I received the much prayed for phone call! Some wonderful people had managed to rescue Sky. Within 48 hours Sky was home! The real "Heroine" in this story is Sky herself. Somehow this brave and smart little dog survived some very terrifying events. The moral of this story: Never give up, God is faithful. BELOW: SKY'S PUPS FROM A 16" BLUE MERLE MATING.
